Background[]

Base Statistics[]

Economy[]

Nigeria has a starting income of $1,822,959. $1,747,691 from tax and $75,268 from resources. Nigeria has one of the best economies in Africa, along with South Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, and Tanzania. It may be a wise choice to focus developing Lagos and Abuja, as the megacities could generate an enormous tax income in the long run.

Nigeria has a starting max manpower cap of 802,833. Nigeria gains 2,565 manpower. Nigeria is regarded as one of the best nations for newer players due to its decent number of resources and strong standing army, as well as weak neighbors.

Geography[]

Terrain[]

Northeastern and central-eastern Nigeria is Hilly. The rest of the country is flat.

Biome[]

The only biome Nigeria has is the Jungle biome to its south, with the north being normal. It is also surrounded by countries with either an Arid or Jungle biome making it even more difficult to find loopholes into invading Nigeria if you are unable to invade through the south.

Borders[]

Nigeria borders Benin, Niger, Chad and Cameroon.

Cities[]

Nigeria has 68 cities, with its capital being Abuja, although its biggest city is Lagos, with a whopping 17.5 million population.

Most of Nigeria's cities are in the South, and some are scattered throughout the north. However, it has multiple cities with over 1 million population, making it easy to tank spam, which is something to be cautious of if they choose to either target Sierra Leone for Titanium or import the necessary resources for tank production.

Threats[]

Overall, Nigeria is one of the safest major countries to be played as, and it is recommended that you play as Nigeria if you are a new player.

Formables[]

Strategy[]

Nigeria is blessed with the megacity of Lagos which provides a large amount of population for Nigeria which translates into a lot of manpower. A802,833s you have quite a strong start as Nigeria thanks to the Home Guard of 220k troops, it is best to go for Sokoto Caliphate first by conquering Cameroon and Chad which will be quite easy except for Cameroon’s Jungle biome and Chad’s Arid biome.

After you have formed Sokoto Caliphate for 10% stability, it is best to make among your goals to invade the nearby nations that have a rich variety of resources, such as Sierra Leone for its titanium. This may take a bit longer as all of them have a Jungle biome and there are multiple of them, therefore you should aim to justify on Benin and Togo before you begin your conquests. You should then aim to develop your conquered lands further and begin industrializing and building several factories and begin trading with others such as selling consumer goods.

if you chose to make tanks for tank spamming or you may have chosen to have near fully developed infantry then you should begin to expand your borders throughout Africa to eventually form the African Union. If war with European nations is necessary, it may be recommended to also make artillery to counter invading forces.

You may think conquering ALL of Africa is easy right? You'd be mistaken, whilst you will have to deal with two major threats in Africa being Egypt and South Africa, you will also have difficulty with biomes especially Jungle biomes in the DRC, expanding through the Sahara will be a nightmare because of this, therefore a quick expansion through the Sahara is the most recommended due to its harsh biome. Let alone you may also have to do with Europeans should they attempt to colonize Africa, as it is very likely that Italy will go for Italian Empire. Whilst as Nigeria it may be easy to beat them alone, they may have allies so it is best to either solve it diplomatically or to take them on with the harshest force you can think of especially use of artillery and submarines to counter their attempts and potentially cause them to suffer from war exhaustion, decreasing stability.

If you do manage to form African Union, then well done! You are now one of the strongest nations in game. And you also control the most commonly used canal in the game, the Suez Canal and you may use it however you wish to use it.

After you form African Union, you have multiple options, listed below.

Securing the Middle East[]

The Middle East is a region full of oil and whilst Africa already will have an absurd amount it would be best to secure more especially with how the Middle East is rich in gold, it is also a region that can help you to easily solidify your power, it is would highly recommended to invade the Middle East quickly with a massive army since you would have one of the largest populations and every single resource ingame, which makes it easy for you to industrialize.

Crossing the Atlantic[]

Another option is to cross the Atlantic Ocean and invade Brazil, you should however have destroyers or aircraft carriers in case they have submarines, however they are in short distance meaning it's even easier to invade and conquer them, except for most of Brazil having the Jungle biome, which makes crossing the Atlantic and invading them hell.

When invading Brazil, it is recommended to have:

If you do manage to take Brazil then well done, you are most likely at the top of rankings and a near unstoppable force if you are competent.

Reverse Colonization[]

Other than being a powerhouse and just constantly industrializing you may also choose to invade into Europe, the most logical places Europe to invade into are Iberia and Italy due to how close to Africa they are.

The one thing you should plan on doing most before taking the rest of Europe is seizing control over the Mediterranean which gives you naval dominance. Since Europe is also largely urban it gives you more opportunities to tank spam and conquer it faster if they lack anti-tank technology. Once you have finally conquered Iberia or Italy, you may be able to conquer the rest of Europe much easier.

Socialism/communism Strategy[]

With Nigeria Already having one of the largest populations in Africa, your only problem will be money. Being so big relative to the rest Africa does put a target on your back, so getting a good economy is necessary. To start the game justify on Sierra Lone and South Africa (provided its an ai), both of which are resource rich and often snatched up by other nations so be quick. While you wait for the justification, build 2-3 electronics factories, then build steel and motor factories, only buy gold and copper for the electronics (buy titanium and tungsten if someone justifies on you and you haven't annexed either countries) sell the electronics and put up government spending and research. train up about 200k more Infantry and split them into two groups with the majority going to South Africa, just in case someone decides to play. By now you should have enough political power to switch to socialism and you should have annexation Sierra Lone and South Africa. Build mines on all titanium, Gold, tungsten, and iron stores in your countries. Produce as many electronics as you can and continue to sell them. I recommend getting consumer goods, either annex a phosphate rich nation or buy phosphate in order to make consumers goods (this will keep your country happy). Form the Sokoto Caliphate and be sure you switch to communism. If Egypt, And Algeria haven't been annexed then take them for yourself. If you continue to make factories and sell goods, you should have enough money and resources to build a powerful army to answer any threat.
