North Korea is a Tier III nation located in East Asia 
. It is a seemingly weak nation and often swallowed up by its neighbors and forgotten. Although it is mostly known as a meme, any skilled player can easily destroy its enemies and end its neighbors.

North Korea, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), is a country in East Asia, constituting the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. It borders China and Russia to the north, at the Yalu (Amnok) and Tumen rivers; it borders South Korea to the south at the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Its western border is formed by Korea Bay and the Yellow Sea, while its eastern border is defined by the Sea of Japan. North Korea, like its southern counterpart, claims to be the legitimate government of the entire peninsula and adjacent islands. Pyongyang is the country's capital and largest city. In 1910, Korea was annexed by Empire of Japan. In 1945, after the Japanese surrender at the end of World War II, Korea was divided into two zones along the 38th parallel, with the north occupied by the Soviet Union and the south occupied by the United States. Negotiations on reunification failed, and in 1948, separate governments were formed: the socialist DPRK in the north, and the capitalist First Republic of Korea in the south. The formation of the DPRK came from a number of provisional governments: the People's Republic of Korea (PRK), the Soviet Civil Administration (SCA), the Provisional People's Committee of North Korea, and the People's Committee of North Korea. The Korean War began in 1950, with an invasion by North Korea, and lasted to 1953. The Korean Armistice Agreement brought about a ceasefire and established a demilitarized zone (DMZ), but no formal peace treaty was signed. According to Article 1 of the state constitution, North Korea is an "independent socialist state". It holds elections, though they have been described by independent observers as sham elections, as North Korea is a totalitarian dictatorship, with an elaborate cult of personality around the Kim dynasty: Il-sung, Jong-il, and current leader Jong-un. The Workers' Party of Korea, led by a member of the ruling family, is the dominant party and leads the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, of which all political officers are required to be members. According to Article 3 of the constitution, Juche is the official ideology of North Korea. The means of production are owned by the state through state-run enterprises and collectivized farms. Most services—such as healthcare, education, housing and food production—are subsidized or state-funded. From 1994 to 1998, North Korea suffered a famine that resulted in the deaths of between 240,000 and 420,000 people, and the population continues to suffer malnutrition. North Korea is one of nine countries in the world that currently possess nuclear weapons. It executed its first nuclear bomb test in 2006 and is believed to have a stockpile of 40 to 50 nuclear weapons as of 2022. North Korea today remains a complete dictatorship and is ruled by supreme leader Kim Jong-Un, who took power after his father, Kim Jong-Il died in 2011. |

North Korea's terrain is split down the middle, with the west being flat and the east being Hilly. North Korea has no biome at all, however during winter it gets affected by Mild Winter.

North Korea has 25 cities which give a total population of 9,929,535 people. The most important of these cities are Pyongyang and Nampo, which are also North Korea's only square cities at the start of the game.

North Korea only borders three nations, Russia, China, and South Korea. It neighbors also neighbors Japan. All of these neighbors except Russia can be threats to North Korean existence, however it isn't necessary to appease any of them.

Strategy[]
North Korea is quite difficult to play early game, because all your neighbors are much more powerful than you. But its communist ideology allows it to produce more resources from factories and also is good for war. A North Korea player does not need to change ideology and should stay communist.
If you have any excess money, you should use it to develop your lands and if you're in a dire situation you should expend your research points on military technology instead.
Starting Moves[]
Focus all your research points on trying to advance through the Research tree as to get Quantum Computing fast as possible. Enact the Forced Labor for dissidents policy and the press censorship policy. Make sure to ally Russia but ignore (not decline) all alliance offers from China, South Korea, and Japan. Justify conquest on South Korea (and Japan if they are AI).
Be sure to construct all factories near your capital, Pyongyang. Make 2 electronics factories as well as the resources needed to upkeep these factories. Then, when they are finished, sell them all to AI nations. Make sure to also construct a steel factory and motor factory. Buy resources for your factories as needed, if there isn't any of the resource then you should just buy from a nation that has at least some of that resource but has no production.
Unifying Korea[]
To deal with South Korea is to deal with a massive flow of troops using an inferior army, however South Korea usually always underestimates the power of North Korea, and any South Korea who thinks of North Korea as small, will end up having no land at all.
The following guide below is only for if South Korea is a player, if they are not, they just conquest them using tanks like any AI nation.
- Construct two fortifications in your largest cities, Pyongyang and Nampo.
- Construct ~3k tanks and buy the Oil needed to sustain this amount of tanks.
- Keep all your troops in your capital and switch your naval doctrine to Capital Fleet, then construct a battleship and a destroyer.
- If South Korea attacks you while doing 1-3 keep doing those steps anyway, if not, then attack South Korea. If South Korea has any powerful allies then ally their allies and unally them.
- If South Korea has any troops, allow them to attack you until they run out of troops. Make sure to bombard their troops using your navy as well to reduce their numbers even more allowing for your armies to crush them at your capital. If Japan attacks you then use your navy to defend yourself against them. Make sure you have naval supremacy and destroy all your enemy(s)'(s) ships. Intercept any ships filled with troops with your tanks if they try to land on your shores.
- Once South Korea's troops are weakened or destroyed, use your tanks to take over their capital and then auto-capture their land.
- Peace out South Korea once they have collapsed and assert yourself as the true Korea.
After taking over South Korea, you will have gained access to their treasury, so make sure to use this extra revenue to build all the factories needed for 
Consumer Goods. Make sure to also make an aircraft manufactory as planes will make your life easier.
Japanese Invasion[]
The Japanese had always tried to take over Korea, and now that you are unified and have a strong economy, it's time to return the favor and end all dreams of Japanese imperialism once and for all. This strategy also applies if 
Japan has invaded you, however you should focus on South Korea if they have invaded you while invading South Korea.
- Obtain naval supremacy, make sure you have more battleships and destroyers than Japan at all times.
- Obtain a proper air-force. You don't really need fighters but they're good just in case Japan sees that you have an air-force and starts building their own. You also don't need bombers as the air-force's main priority should be to support ground forces.
- Construct greater or equal to 4k tanks, this will be enough to conduct a naval invasion of Japan.
- Attack Japan and send those tanks to Japan's main island, Honshu.
- If Japan tries to attack these tanks once they have landed, use your navy to bombard any troops that try to attack these tanks as well as your attackers to weaken them.
- Send your tanks to capture Tokyo, make sure to navally bombard Japan's troops in Tokyo. If the tanks are suffering attrition make sure to capture a small city and let it rest before going on. If your tanks are below 3k in number, allow them to reinforce above 3k before continuing to Tokyo. If any troops try to stop these tanks them weaken them with your fleet and your air-force.
- After capturing Tokyo, if your tanks are below 2.5k in number, let them reinforce until they're at least 2.5k again and then split up all these tanks and set them to auto-capture.
- Once Japan capitulates at least take all of their land and seize their treasury.
Chinese Domination[]
The Chinese have long influenced Korea. From being directly conquered, to a tributary, to a vassal, to intervening in the Korean Civil War. China may have helped the communists in the Korean Civil War, however it is time to break free out of China's shadow, and instate Kim Jong Un as the Supreme Leader of 
China!
The next task will require a massive economy to crush your enemy. To do this, you should develop the lands you have taken in Japan and sell electronics. You'll need at least over 6 million in cash revenue in order to defeat China. You also need a lot of oil to not gain an oil shortage in the middle of the invasion of China.
- Make sure you have a proper fleet (1 battleship, 1 destroyer, 1 submarine) and it is stronger than China's (if they have one).
- Obtain around 8k tanks. Split these tanks in two and reserve one for invading through Manchuria and one through Beijing.
- Justify conquest on China, if they have Russia as an ally (you don't need to do this) then you should ally them and then break ties with them.
- Around 1/2 through the justification send your tanks to attack a port near Beijing. Make sure to escort these tanks using your fleet.
- Make sure to time your attack around the time when the tanks get on the port near Beijing. When attacking, after capturing the city make sure your fleet bombards Beijing (only the destroyer will be able to cover Beijing) and then move your tanks over to capture Beijing. While doing this, make sure to split up the 4k tanks you left over and make sure they attack China through Korea.
- China will not easily recover from this and if they try to fight back using waves of infantry, make sure to use your attackers to weaken their troops as well as your fleet to bombard them. Send in extra waves of tanks as well to aid in the capture of China.
- After China has collapsed, peace out for all their land and quickly invade any states that have splintered from China.
Crusade Against Democracy[]
Democracy is blasphemy to the ideology in which Korea follows and democracy always tries to clash with Korea. There will be no more democracy as long as the Supreme Leader lives! The democracies will all fall with the hands of Kim Jong Un himself!
Death to America![]
For so long America has haunted Korean existence and split it in two. It is the mortal enemy of the Korea itself. The Supreme Leader will accept nothing less than the total domination of the 
United States.
- Create 8k tanks and escort them with a proper fleet with an aircraft carrier this time to the American west coast. Make sure to send along your aircraft with the carrier.
- Once these tanks arrive, justify conquest/subjugation on the United States.
- Line up the tanks on the waters west of the coast then attack.
- Set these tanks to auto-capture and occassionally select a few tanks to take over major cities. Weaken any troops that attempt to fight back on the west coast using the navies and use your planes to weaken troops further inland.
- Send wave after wave of tanks until the United States capitulates or accepts being your puppet.
Farewell to India![]
India, the last bastion of democracy. They have inherited the worst traits of democracy, and have made fools of socialism.
- Organize around 10k tanks and escort them with the fleet you had before except with a lot more battleships, destroyers, and submarines.
- Justify conquest on India and then send your tanks and fleet over to the Indian Ocean near Indian territories. Send your air-force as well.
- Attack India, you will be doing the same thing you did for America. Blitzkrieging their lands and weakening their troops.
Congratulations! You have become a communist titan and a democracy-slayer! Many more will turn to the dark side, many more will try to become democratic, but as long as Korea survives, perhaps you could try a more permanent solution and create a new world order.
Trivia[]
- North Korea is one of the only few nations that has the "Communist" Ideology, giving it a good manpower and factory boost. (100% more manpower than the normal Non-aligned ideology and 125% more factory output. This allows North Korea to make a ridiculous amount of factory goods, such as electronics and steel.
- Drew Durnil, a notable Youtuber that had made a video on Rise of Nations, once got a single legitimate view from North Korea. YouTube possibly removed it around March 8th, 2020.
- North Korea has one of the biggest militaries in the world, despite having a population the size of Australia, manages a total of 1,320,000+ military personnel, this is more military personnel than the US state of Montana has in population.
- Despite conscripting a significant portion of its population compared to other countries, North Korea's conscription law is volunteer.
- North Korea was once favorable to its southern counterpart, however after the USSR collapsed, its GDP now, however, became comparable to places like Cyprus and Kyrgyzstan.
- North Korea will prevent any of their people to leave the country unless they are high ranking officials or have a special reason.
- You can visit North Korea but you must have a visa and book a tour.
- North Korea guards the border to South Korea more than the border to China and Russia.
