Palau is a Tier I island nation off the coast of the Philippines, located in Oceania . It's one of the many islands located in the Micronesia (not to be confused with the country) subregion of Oceania.

Background[]

Base Statistics[]

Economy[]

Palau has a base income of $101,028. If counting home guard costs, Palau earns $61,028. The vast majority of this income is generated by your capital, Koror, with Melekeok only producing $282.

Resources[]

Palau produces no supply of resources.

Military[]

Palau starts with a typical home guard of 20,000 infantry stationed on Koror. Palau has a manpower capacity of 60,000 and a manpower gain of 127. Palau's starting conscription law is Volunteer.

Geography[]

Palau is an island nation with no terrain nor biome. It sits in the middle of the Philippine Sea, having maritime borders with the Philippines to the west and Indonesia to it's south. To it's east is the rest of Oceania.

Threats[]

Cities[]

Palau has two cities numbering 18,226 people. There's the capital, Koror, and north of Koror is Melekeok. Both cities are ports.

Formables[]

Palau only has one formable, that being Alam Melayu, which most nations in the region can form.

Strategy[]

First, declare war on Guam, as they are a close neighbor and easy to take out. Once you've done this, wait for unrest to go down and build some factories in Guam and your mainland. Make sure to develop your city so that you gain more tax money and manpower. Now, declare war on Papua New Guinea before Australia snipes it (that is, if there's an Australia player in your game). It will also be beneficial as it has a strategic position and has a lot more cities and space for you to build factories on, and will boost your population. Now, expand into the Solomon and Marshall Islands. You could have two units go for each at the same time. Also, try to fortify Papua New Guinea, as Australia might declare war on you if they are a player. It is recommended that you take Taiwan just to gain cities with a 1M+ Population.

If Australia Declares War on You[]

Say, Australia isn't happy about you taking Papua New Guinea right off the bat. If you were able to take Taiwan, then you can produce tanks. Make sure to get into the steel & motor part trade (or just build motor part factories) in order to produce a lot of tanks. Socialism is a recommended ideology, as it will give you more manpower. Send your tanks to Papua New Guinea, where you will need them to hold your defenses. If you had time to research more into tanks in technology, that is great. Also, use frigates, destroyers and other really good boats to blockade Australia from Papua New Guinea once you destroyed their tanks there. Embarrassed to losing to Palau, Australia will naturally either White Peace or leave the game.

Oceanic Dominance[]

Now that you have made sure that Australia is no longer a threat or they were AI, you can now continue expanding. Take New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, even the Philippines. At this point, you will likely be able to form the Pacific Federation. You are now a very big Palau and some may even say that.. ''Palau rose up.''

Dealing With Enemies[]

This is the point where you have two new enemies, China and Japan. Japan needs you and for the Empire of Japan and China might want Taiwan, which you most likely annexed to warn of Australia (unless Australia wasn't a player) Let's start with say China invades you for Taiwan. Began producing Electronics factories and Steel factories if you do not have them already. Go to Military screen by pressing S, go to Doctrines and select the Submarine Warfare Doctrine so you can build better submarines faster and cheaper. Immediately start building a submarine anywhere, but be aware of places where you are building factories, as it will start building after the factories are built. When the factories are almost done, buy the needed resources. Sell your 32 electronics to one of the democratic countries or Mexico for extra money. Now, China should've declared war on you, so use your submarines to destroy its transport ships. Build 2 more submarines when you get money, but split them and set them on auto-merge off so you can destroy more ships at once. When you get 75M money, build a battleship so you can counter China's destroyers, also build a destroyer if China builds submarines too. If he uses artillery on land, then you're screwed, but you can still use your troops to kill them, but China's army is definitely stronger so it's not always a good idea. You're the target of a superpower so don't expect everything to go smoothly. Once China's War Exhaustion ramps up and protests begin, you know stuff is about to go down. Once Fujian, Guangxi or Anhui declares independence, immediately justify them. Chances are other nations will jump in on China seeing their defeat to Palau. (These will likely be Japan, Russia and/or India) You want to prevent Japan from getting most of China, so while China is falling, snipe Beijing before Japan can. Use Beijing as a base for soldiers and begin expanding onto the coast southward towards your other areas. Once you justify the independent coastal countries, you can connect your land in Beijing. At this point, you have become a really big superpower.

Let's say China just finally falls and everything is captured, you peace out and now everyone is dividing China up. You'll want to make sure it is you that gets Shanxi, as Shanxi has many cities with over 1 Million population and is a really good place to have. Now, you'll have one last enemy to deal with if everything went smoothly, Japan. Japan will likely want you for the Empire of Japan. If you have not made an alliance with them, chances are they will declare war on you if they are a player. If you have Beijing or most of China, this would be a big mistake for them. You'll have to hope by this time unrest in China went down, so that you can start mobilizing tanks. Send them into Manchuria where Japan likely captured in the war. Also, try to navally invade Korea (which will likely be owned by Japan) You will be able to encircle the Japanese army there if you are able to pull this off. Now, send the rest of your tanks into Eastern Manchuria to finally deal with the Japanese divisions there. Now, Japan's mainland will be exposed. If you'll want to send your submarines to the shores of Japan while wielding your infantry & tank divisions to Tokyo and other important cities. At this point, Japan will likely fall and your conquest of the big powers will be over.

Palau's Rise to Power[]

Now, you can enjoy owning most of the coasts of China, Japan, the Pacific and maybe other stuff you invaded. You can also choose to form the Oceanic Union by invading Australia, or Alam Melayu, at this point you could easily achieve both of those with the amount of power you have.
