— Description of forming Patagonia |
Patagonia used to be a formable located in South America . It could've been formed by
Argentina and
Chile. On October 15, 2022, the formable was removed from the game as the Patagonia releasable was added to the game, replacing it.
Background[]
Patagonia is a sparsely populated region at the southern end of South America , shared by
Argentina and
Chile. The region comprwases the southern section of the Andes Mountains, lakes, fjords, and glaciers in the west and deserts, tablelands and steppes to the east. Patagonia is bounded by the Pacific Ocean on the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and many bodies of water that connect them, such as the Strait of Magellan, the Beagle Channel, and the Drake Passage to the south.
The Colorado and Barrancas rivers, which run from the Andes to the Atlantic, are commonly considered the northern limit of Argentine Patagonia. The archipelago of Tierra del Fuego was sometimes included as part of Patagonia. Most geographers and historians locate the northern limit of Chilean Patagonia at Huincul Fault, in Araucanía Region.
At the time of the Spanish arrival, Patagonia was inhabited by multiple indigenous tribes, principally from Wallmapu. In a small portion of northwestern Patagonia, indigenous peoples practiced agriculture, while in the remaining territory, peoples lived as hunter-gatherers, traveling by foot in eastern Patagonia or by dugout canoe and dalca in the fjords and channels. In colonial times indigenous peoples of northeastern Patagonian adopted a horseriding lifestyle. While the interest of the Spanish Empire had been chiefly to keep other European powers away from Patagonia, independent
Chile and
Argentina began to colonize the territory slowly over the course of the 19th and early 20th centuries. This process brought a decline of the indigenous populations, whose lives and habitats were disrupted, while at the same time thousands of Europeans, Argentines, Chilotes and mainland Chileans settled in Patagonia. Border disputes between
Argentina and
Chile were recurrent in the 20th century. Except for the boundary along the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, all of these disputes have been settled today.
Terrain[]
Terrain[]
The Patagonian terrain was mainly flat in the east - in the Argentinian region it's completely flat, except in its northwestern part is completely semi-mountainous in the south and Mountainous to its center and to the north.
Biome[]
The only biome besides the normal biome in the formable was Arid. This was in northern Chile.
Economy and Manpower[]
As said in Cities section, Patagonian cities make nearly $1.8M of tax, but other income comes from resources: $256,403 in total. it gains around 3,200 manpower daily.

Cities[]
Patagonia was hard to conquer on the south part of this nation due to lack of cities, especially in southern Chile region because it's semi-mountainous - will probably affect units due to attrition. In total, it has 196 cities of total population of a little over 41 million people. They are producing tax of $1,798,072, where mainly it's gathered in northern half of Patagonia. All cities make 2,465 manpower on Volunteer Conscription Laws.
Resources[]
Copper was the most mined resource, located across the whole nation except in the very southern part. The best mines are in Chilean part of north, even to +2.7 copper per city. oil, as it's common in every nation, was literally everywhere. Something that can be very beneficial and very rare was titanium being found in Chile. The Chilean part of Patagonia was very rich in resources - it also makes gold and iron, unlike
Argentina.
Strategy[]
The best country to form this as was Argentina, so the below strategy will show you how to form Patagonia as it:
You should start by justifying on Chile. Then, your next move should be spawning infantry along the cities near your border with
Chile, and move your home guard to the Chilean capital, Santiago. Once your justification concludes, declare war on
Chile.
First, capture a nearby city to Santiago with your home guard to AI Lure the Chilean troops and wait until it entrenches, it's better to do it on mountain terrain. They should be defeated easily. Once defeated, move your home guard to capture the capital and send the rest of your troops to auto-capture
Chile. After capturing Santiago, it was best to turn your home guard into a line and aid the rest of your troops with conquering
Chile. Also, spawn more infantry closest to the cities that your troops are having a hard time capturing.
Eventually, Chile will collapse, and you can form Patagonia!
Threats[]
- An expansionist
Brazil wanting to expand south. (UNCOMMON)
- A colonial
Spain that was looking to reform the
Spanish Empire. this was only a prevalent threat in mid-late game servers, as you will definitely form before a Spanwash player even reaches the continent. (RARE)
- An expansionist
Peru looking to form the
Inca Empire. (RARE)
