— Description of forming Republic of China |
The Republic of China is a formable for Taiwan, located in East Asia . Beginning as the island nation of Taiwan and conquering the entirety of China is the main prerequisite for forming.
It is considered to be one of the hardest formables to reunite, as the main reasons are instability, high war exhaustion, and Taiwan is a prime target for China and Japan during the early game, as it is a required country for both the Qing Dynasty and the Empire of Japan. Due to these reasons, forming this is quite a difficult challenge.
In most common cases, it is extremely rare to find this formable in a public server. However, with great strategies and tons of luck, a reunification may be born. Successfully forming gives the player the Guófù title.
Background[]
The Republic of China was declared in the first of January 1912, amid the fires of the Xinhai Revolution. The Chinese people had been oppressed by the Manchu Qing dynasty, which had ruled over China for 268 years prior to the Xinhai Revolution, which was a series of staged uprisings that eventually caused the complete overthrow of the Qing. The first government of the Republic of China was established in Nanjing, with the famous revolutionary Sun Yat-Sen elected to be the provisional president. The Republic was founded on the Republic of China's constitution. The first government was made up of a parliament and delegates, which all represented the 17 Chinese provinces. Sun negotiated with Yuan Shikai, general of the Beiyang army, to remove the Qing emperor. In exchange, he would become the next president of the Republic, which he did. He, however, had little interest in the Republic and preferred to rule militarily, and declared himself emperor of China in 1915. This caused many of the provinces to secede and become warlord states, and China fell into a period of warlordism. After Sun's death in 1925, Chiang Kai Shek became the leader of the Kuomintang (Nationalist Party) and began an expedition to retake the remaining warlord states. Chiang Kai Shek was worried about the communists and began purging them. In the south, the Communists formed their own government, starting the Chinese Civil war. Eventually, the Communists were forced out of Southern China. By the 1930s, Nationalist China was corrupt and maintained only nominal control. Another conflict was brewing in the north, between the Empire of Japan and the Nationalist government, the former slowly pushing south. On July 7, 1937, Chinese and Japanese troops clashed outside the Marco Polo bridge, and the 2 nations would enter warfare for many years. During the war, the Chinese civil war was put on hold and the Communists and Nationalists agreed to work together against the foreign invasion, known as the United Front. After World War 2 ended, the island of Taiwan was given to Nationalist China. But after the fighting, the government had serious debts. Battles also began resuming between the Communists and the Nationalists. With little public support for the government remaining, the Republic was overtaken swiftly, and on October 1, 1949, Mao Zedong, leader of the Communists, declared the People's Republic of China. Afterward, the remaining Nationalist/Kuomingtang military and 2 million refugees fled to the island of Taiwan and declared their provisional capital to be Taipei.Today, what remains of the Nationalist government is known as Taiwan. |
Base Statistics[]
Economy[]
The Republic of China has the second largest economy, behind the United States, although it could be further improved by changing the ideology to Democracy. The Republic of China generates a heavy income of an estimated $19 million per 5 days; $16.9 million comes from taxes, rooting from large metropolitan areas, while the remaining $2.1 million comes from natural resources.
By developing every city to the highest tier and researching the technology tree, the republic will project its superiority on the global rankings, as it reigns as the most dominant superpower.
Resources[]
The Republic of China is resource rich but lacks a few significant resources, such as titanium, chromium, phosphate, and oil. However, with China's massive economy and military strength, aggressive expansion and trade can easily bridge the gaps.
Phosphate and titanium exist in abundance in Siberia, Russia and Kazakhstan, while chromium can be acquired in the Philippines, Kazakhstan, India, Pakistan, and Iran. Oil can be found in the surrounding countries, especially in Central Asia and Russia.
Building mines and researching resource output bonuses will also help increase China's mineral generation. Communism will provide a hefty resource extraction upgrade once upon enacting the "Forced Labor for Dissidents" policy. With all of these bonuses, it will be more than sufficient to fill the gaps with a healthy surplus.

Military[]
The Republic of China has one of the largest manpower pools in the world, with a manpower capacity, (2% as Volunteer) of 7,606,023. With this, it grants an opportunity to invade weaker countries with ease.

Geography[]
Penghu, despite having a city, Magong, lacks any tile, thus it is devoid of any terrain or biome.
Terrain[]
Terrain of China[]
The nation of China has a variety of terrain in each region. The eastern plains and southern coasts of the country consist of fertile lowlands and foothills. They are the location of most of China's agricultural output and human population.
The southern areas of the country, mostly in Guangxi, consist of Hilly and Semi-Mountainous terrain. The west of Guangxi, lies Tibet. In the southern region of Tibet, Mountainous topographical lands covers from the most westernmost border of Burma, spanning all the way to the border of Pakistan and Tajikistan. The rest, such as the north of Tibet, covers Semi-Mountainous and Hilly plains.
Semi-Mountainous lands then stretches from west Tibet to the most northern tip of Sinkiang, where it then borders Kazakhstan and Mongolia. Qinghai, where it is fully embodied with Hilly terrain, stretches a full runway from the Qinghai - Sinkiang border, all the way beneath Mongolia, to the eastern areas of China, where most of the population is situated, and flatlands are located.
Terrain of Taiwan[]
The terrain in Taiwan is not geographically advanced as China. It is Hilly in all tiles of the island except for the southernmost tile, where it is flat.
Biome[]
Biome of China[]
China does not have many biomes, but is still mainly covered with a few throughout the territory. In Fujian and Guangxi, Jungle spreads throughout the states, thus making it hard making it difficult to secure a beachhead in China without being annihilated from entrenched units in the jungle.
In the regions of Tibet, Qinghai, and Sinkiang, biomes are mostly Arid, also acting as a desert barrier to slow down incoming enemy units that are traveling through those regions, without suffering from major attrition. Severe Winter is common in Manchuria and the areas near the city of Beijing, during the months of December - January. While Mild Winter is prevalent during November and February.
Biome of Taiwan[]
Jungle covers much of Taiwan, except for the northernmost tile of the nation, which has no biome.
Cities[]
The Republic of China gives the accessibility to hundreds of cities and population, as most are centralized in mainland China. The country as a whole boasts 417 sprawling cities with a total population of 380,301,120 citizens in-game.
The biggest city is Shanghai, with a general population of a whopping 15 million. Other large and important cities include, but are not limited to: Beijing (capital of China), Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Tianjin, Taipei (capital of Taiwan), Chongqing, Shenyang (named Shenyeng in-game), Dongguan, Chengdu, Xi'an, and Nanjing.
The placement of cities in China involves with inhospitable terrain, as there is more urbanization on the east side of China, than in the west. This same scenario can also be said for Taiwan.
Threats[]
The Republic of China is one of the hardest formables to achieve, as China, a nation that is the second most powerful country in the rankings, requires to be conquered. As China has many releasables, more wars must be waged, and war exhaustion and low stability may stem from there.
Not only China and national balancing are the main setbacks, but nearby neighbors, or powerful countries, may colonize the unoccupied Chinese breakaways as a method for the expansion of territory, which ultimately halts the formation.
- Japan needs the Taiwan island for the Empire of Japan.
- If China is a player, there is a high chance of annexation, for the Qing Dynasty.
- If China divided into states, Mongolia, if it is a player, may gain the advantage of using the opportunity to colonize the Chinese releasables to form the Yuan Dynasty or/and the Mongol Empire.
- Russia may invade Manchuria, if it declares independence, for the extension of land.
- Korea, if not taken, can expand into Manchuria, especially North Korea seeking to form the Goguryeo.
- Netherlands requires Taiwan to form the Dutch Empire.
- India could occupy Chinese states near its border, such as Tibet and Guangxi.
- United States may want to project its influence to Asia, which could motivate them to invade several Chinese territories or forge a war against you, though it is likely they will not commence the risk.
Strategy[]
Your primary goal as Taiwan should be to weaken China to the point that you will be able to conquer them. To do this, you must begin by defending your home island, as China is commonly controlled by a player at the beginning, and it is likely they want to form the Qing Dynasty by invading you. If you want to defend from China, there are many things you should take into account.
If China is a Beginner[]
- Form a navy and surround at least the west side of your island with it. Armies are very vulnerable to navies and very likely they will all die if Taiwan is surrounded. Your best bet is that China will either leave or break up in several releasables, due to low stability from high war exhaustion.
Average Skilled China[]
- Form a navy, but assure to have some submarines to defend your island with. Some good recommendations to survive are to ask nations (do not form an alliance), like Japan, the United States, India, to aid for economic and manpower aid.
Excellent Player as China[]
Ask powerful nations such as Japan, India, United States, etc. for aid assistance. As China may sink your navy later in the game.
- Once China hasn't been able to take any cities, then start landing on regions such as Fujian or Anhui, as a counteroffensive.
- If you are not comfortable fighting alone, ally nearby powers, and call them in the war, as China ,may successfully secure a beachhead on your island. However, with the disadvantages of allies, they may backstab and refuse to transfer occupation to you.
- If none of the world powers are willing to attack China and your navies have been destroyed, unfortunately, you're doomed. Unless you can convince China to white peace, there is no way of negotiating
China Is No Longer a Player[]
Once China is not controlled by a player, you can begin your conquest. To conquer China, you must first destroy their army first. This tactic that I'm about to describe is a bit cheesy, but it works nonetheless.
- Make sure you're at war with China. There will likely be many Chinese armies sitting on the mainland. Gather a decently sized navy and some small 100k divisions or so.
- To destroy their divisions, land close to their armies but make sure you are separated by water. Some good spots to do this is the island of Hainan (note that they can cross through the center, so make sure it's done diagonally), Shandong, and Liaoning. Put your navy between the water crossing.
- Once you begin occupying, China armies should start moving towards you. Once they enter the water, put your navy in-between and they will easily be destroyed. Repeat this for all of China coastal armies.
- If a Chinese army is too far inland, sacrifice some small divisions to bait them closer to the coast. Use the A.I. Luring strategy if you can.
Once China has little to no divisions left, there are 2 things you can do to take over China:
- Alternatively, you could go directly for the big cities (Shanghai and Beijing) and cause China to collapse very quickly, making it so that you can peace them and have a functioning force and economy. Beware though, once you do this all the minor Chinese states will start seceding, and there is a very likely chance that some major power will invade them. Do this at your own risk.
Stability[]
Just like the China, the Republic of China can also break into several releasables, if stability balance is not managed properly. During the run, Chinese releasables, could possibly declare independence due to instability, prevalent events of separatism, as well as high war exhaustion.
Forming the republic requires every releasable within the Chinese heartland, which also prompts more wars. When being involved in many wars, war exhaustion could spark, and starts to slowly diminish the formation attempt. However, with the use of consumer goods and government spending, stability will remain sturdy with an addition of war exhaustion downgrade.Trivia[]
- In-game, the Republic of China's default capital is Taipei, whereas its historical capital was Nanjing, also sometimes spelled Nanking.
- Historically, the Republic of China did not control Tibet, but forming it still requires it.
