A Shipyard is a building subcategory comprising two structures: Shipyard and Shipyard II. The Shipyard is dedicated to the production of battleships and also serves for repairing battleships and aircraft carriers, while Shipyard II is solely responsible for the production of aircraft carriers. Notably, Shipyard II can only be built if the basic Shipyard is already constructed in the city.

Despite their differences, both structures can only be constructed in port cities, identified by a bluish anchor symbol. They serve as the backbone for producing and maintaining battleships and aircraft carriers, also known as 'capital ships', as these vessels cannot be built in a city without a Shipyard. Additionally, they increase tax income which the amount is based on the city's population.

Costs[]

Both Shipyard and Shipyard II have different construction prices and requirements. The basic Shipyard requires $150,000,000 and 100 units of Steel, while Shipyard II requires $600,000,000 and 650 units of steel.

As mentioned in the previous paragraphs, Shipyard II can only be built if the city already possess a basic Shipyard, while both shipyards can only be built on a port/coastal city.

Trivia[]

  • Shipyards were added on the 12/07/2023 Update (December 7, 2023). Additionally, before this update, battleships and aircraft carriers were able to be produced and repaired in regular port cities.
  • The Shipyard that produces battleships and repair capital ships is officially called 'Shipyard' in-game, however, it can also have nicknames to improve clarification such as "Shipyard I", "Basic Shipyard", "Regular Shipyard", "Tier 1 Shipyard", "Level 1 Shipyard", etc.
  • Shipyard II takes longer to build compared to the basic Shipyard.
  • Shipyard I and II both add 12.5% to the base tax gain of a city, so getting Shipyard II let's you have an extra 25% tax from that city's base tax. This means, mixing it together with City Development can help you towards a slightly higher tax income.
