— Description of forming Sokoto Caliphate |
The Sokoto Caliphate is a formable located in Central Africa . The countries required to form Sokoto Caliphate are
Nigeria,
Chad and
Cameroon , with
Nigeria being the starting nation.
History[]
The Sokoto Caliphate was a sovereign Sunni Muslim caliphate in West Africa that was founded during the jihad of the Fulani War in 1804 by Usman dan Fodio. It was dissolved when the British conquered the area in 1903 and annexed it into the newly established Northern Nigeria Protectorate.
Developed in the context of multiple independent Hausa Kingdoms, at its height, the caliphate linked over 30 different emirates and over 10 million people in the most powerful state in the region and one of the most significant empires in Africa in the nineteenth century. The caliphate was a loose confederation of emirates that recognized the suzerainty of the Amir al-Mu'minin, the Sultan of Sokoto. The caliphate brought decades of economic growth throughout the region. An estimated 1–2.5 million non-Muslim slaves were captured during the Fulani War. Slaves provided labour for plantations and were provided an opportunity to become Muslims.
Although European colonists abolished the political authority of the caliphate, the title of sultan was retained and remains an important religious position for Sunni Muslims in the region to the current day. Usman dan Fodio's jihad provided the inspiration for a series of related jihads in other parts of the Sudanese Savanna and the Sahel far beyond the borders of what is now

Economy and Manpower[]
The Sokoto Caliphate starts with generating a sharp $2,400,000 per 5 days, but can be adjusted with numerous ways. It has a base manpower capacity of 995,000 and receives ~3,000 per 5 days.
Geography[]
Terrain[]
The only terrain the formable is covered with is Hilly, as it spans over northeastern and central-eastern Nigeria, northern and the upper east of
Cameroon, and the southern tip of Chad. The remaining of the land is flat.
Biome[]
The Sokoto Caliphate is distributed into two unique biomes; one being the Jungle, which covers southwest Nigeria and the entirety of
Cameroon, with the other percentage being Arid in
Chad. The rest has no dedicated biome and therefore it's normal.
Cities[]
The Sokoto Caliphate hosts a large number of cities, totaling to 114. Nigeria holds the highest percentage of the major cities within the nation, including Abuja, serving as the capital, and the most populous, Lagos.
Borders[]
The Sokoto Caliphate borders 8 countries:
Strategy[]
Forming the Sokoto Caliphate is easy, as both required nations are both substandard compared Nigeria alone. Use infantry or tank to invade both countries, however, the most difficult may be Cameroon. In general, the formable is considered as "free stability as no major threats will be encountered throughout the run.
Strategies such as entrenchment or the blitzkrieg are still vital when the required country(s) is a player. However, due to Nigeria's power, you will likely overrun them depending on the playstyle, since Cameroon or
Chad will not have enough time for preparation of war before an early invasion.
Threats[]
A strong nation with strategical geographic features with a mixture of an adequate income and manpower gain, Sokoto Caliphate could withstand most of the listed threats;
Germany and
France may colonize
Cameroon for their respective formables,
German Empire and
French Empire. However, a quick war can prevent them from claiming, but may place your country into a vulnerable position for a possible invasion.
- The
United Kingdom could conquer
Nigeria and
Cameroon for the
British Empire.
United States or
Brazil may seek for a base in Africa
, as Nigeria is an optimal target due to its land size and population.
- A skilled Chad may invade you to form the
Kanem Empire.
