— Description of forming Spartan Empire |
The Spartan Empire was a formable of Greece located in Balkan Peninsula. Its capital is located in Athens.
Background[]
The city of Sparta rose to power around 650 BC. From 492 BC to 449 BC, the Spartans led the Greek city-states in a war against the Persians. It was during the Persian Wars that the Spartans fought the famous battle of Thermopylae where 300 Spartans held off hundreds of thousands of Persians allowing the Greek army to escape.
After the Persian Wars, Sparta went to war against Athens in the Peloponnesian War. The two city-states fought from 431 BC to 404 BC with Sparta eventually triumphing over Athens. Sparta began to decline in the coming years and lost the Battle of Leuctra to Thebes in 371 BC. However, it remained an independent city-state until Greece was conquered by the Roman Empire in 146 BC.
Economy and Manpower[]
Spartan Empire gains $786,753 from taxes and $130,376 from resources. It has a manpower cap of 241,945.
Formables[]
Spartan Empire can form Byzantine Empire, European Union, Balkan Federation and Macedonian Empire.
Terrain[]
Spartan Empire's terrain is mostly hilly, with the exception of eastern Bulgaria, western Albania and area near Athens being flat.
Resources[]
Strategy[]
Justify on Albania and Macedonia. While you're waiting, build 3 electronics factories and start buying the required resources. Try allying with countries like Egypt, Turkey or Italy, if Turkey rejects, they’re probably going to invade you. When you're done justifying, justify on Montenegro and Bulgaria. Build as many infantry units as possible and declare war on Albania (on Macedonia if Serbia is a player). When electronics factories are done, sell them to AIs. When attacking the required countries, make sure you don't attack their troops while they're entrenched, as they take half the damage. When you take all the required countries, you can now form.
If Turkey plans to invade you[]
If Turkey rejects your alliance requests, they’re most likely going to invade you. Build some submarines, as they can easily destroy their transports. Prepare a steel and a motor parts factory so you can build tanks. Prepare some forts at Athens and border cities if you have some money left. Try to get allied with countries like Italy, Egypt, Russia, or Iran. If a faction exists, try joining it, if they accept you, you don't need to worry if your faction leader isn't a coward that'll give you up to Turkey. If Turkey declares war, use your submarines to destroy their troops in the Aegean Sea, if they're not built yet, build tanks and infantries and entrench them at Turkey's border. If Turkey uses destroyers against your submarines, tanks can still be efficient against their infantries. If they use tanks too, your only hope is allies or to research anti-tank and make more infantry.
Now you can form either Byzantine Empire or Balkan Federation.
Threats[]
- Turkey wanting to form the Ottoman Empire You should focus your attention on Turkey since its your primary threat.
- In some cases, Italy can also be a threat with Italy wanting Albania for their ambitions.
- Romania may also be a threat since they need Bulgaria for Kingdom of Dacia.
- Experienced Germany and France if they're expansionist and wanting to form European Union.
