Tanzania officially The United Republic of Tanzania, is a Tier III Nation in Africa . It is one of the most powerful nations in East Africa, however its economy and population pales in comparison to other African nations such as
South Africa and
Egypt.
It borders Kenya,
Mozambique,
Malawi,
Democratic Republic of the Congo,
Burundi and
Rwanda.
Background[]
Tanzania is a country in East Africa which formed through the union of Tanganyika and the sultanate of Zanzibar, within the African Great Lakes region. It borders Uganda to the north; Kenya to the northeast; Comoros Islands and the Indian Ocean to the east; Mozambique and Malawi to the south; Zambia to the southwest; and Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, is in northeastern Tanzania. The United Nations estimated Tanzania's 2018 population at 56.31 million, which is slightly smaller than South Africa, making it the second most populous country located entirely south of the Equator. The population is composed of about 120 ethnic, linguistic, and religious groups. The sovereign state of Tanzania is a presidential constitutional republic and since 1996 its official capital city has been Dodoma where the president's office, the National Assembly, and some government ministries are located. Dar es Salaam, the former capital, retains most government offices and is the country's largest city, principal port, and leading commercial centre. Tanzania is a de facto one-party state with the democratic socialist Chama Cha Mapinduzi party in power. Over 100 different languages are spoken in Tanzania, making it the most linguistically diverse country in East Africa. The country does not have a de jure official language, although the national language is Swahili. Swahili is used in parliamentary debate, in the lower courts, and as a medium of instruction in primary school. English is used in foreign trade, in diplomacy, in higher courts, and as a medium of instruction in secondary and higher education; although the Tanzanian government is planning to discontinue English as the primary language of instruction it will be available as an optional course. Approximately 10 percent of Tanzanians speak Swahili as a first language, and up to 90 percent speak it as a second language. |

Geography[]
Tanzania's terrain is mostly Hilly or flat and is in the Jungle and normal biomes. However, it does have a large mountain range plus a lake to the North-West.
Formables[]
Tanzania can form the following formables:
East African Federation by conquering
Burundi,
Kenya,
Rwanda,
South Sudan, and
Uganda.
African Union by conquering all of Africa.
Kilwa Sultanate by conquering the coast of Kenya and
Mozambique,
Comoros and
Mayotte and conquering 3 of
Madagascar’s cities in the north.
Threats[]
Kenya is similar in strength to Tanzania and may also want to form the
East African Federation. Kenya is not a player that much, which makes Tanzania a relatively safe country to play.
Democratic Republic of the Congo may take the nations that you need for EAF. However the DRC may just expand north or south instead.
South Africa may want to expand further north after forming
South African Union. This might happen since South Africa is a commonly played nation in Africa.
Oman may invade Kenya and Tanzania for the
Omani Empire. However, Oman isn't a player very often.
Germany may attempt to invade you for the
German Empire. However, Germany usually does not expand into Africa, let alone East Africa until it has a sizeable amount of Europe.
United Kingdom may invade you for the
British Empire. Luckily, it is unlikely that the UK will invade you first and might turn their attention to France or other former colonies such as Canada.
- Other powerful African nations, such as
Nigeria, may eventually invade you to form the
African Union.
Strategy[]
Your priority as Tanzania is to form the East African Federation. It is unlikely that at this stage you would be able to take on Egypt for the Nile Empire, plus you would need to focus your own defenses within your own territory in case countries such as DRC or South Africa may try to invade you early on. First, start by conquering
Rwanda and
Burundi, which is unlikely to be conquered early on, even Belgium would not be willing to expand that quickly if they have opponents in Europe. Then take out
Uganda and
South Sudan, these countries are riskier since Egypt will most likely take South Sudan for the Khedivate of Egypt and expand further south after. If Egypt decides to focus on the middle east (which they usually do), you can go for the East African Federation. Make electronic factories (you should do that as soon as the game starts) and the factories required for tanks. Buy all the required resources and go limited on conscription laws. After that, train your tanks and invade Kenya. There you go! You have formed the East African Federation.
If the United Kingdom wants to form the
British Empire, you will have to make sure to create units that can counter theirs if you want to repel an invasion. Make a defensive line of Infantry with anti-tank technology, a few artillery units behind that too, if they try to naval invade, use any counter measures possible, though if they do declare war, immediately create 1 or 2 Submarines just in case, and a navy consisting of a battleship and a few destroyers.
