Ticks are measured by days; every five days, a tick occurs.
Ticks are a unit of measurement for time that determines when certain game events occur. In the game, every 1 tick, which is equivalent to 5 in game days in RoN. However, if your connection is perfect, then it is 1 second in real-time. Many mechanics update, including resource production, stability income, manpower gain, tax revenue, player experience gain, trade with foreign nations, etc. Essentially, one tick equals five days in-game and five seconds in real-life.
