Trinidad and Tobago is a Tier ll nation located in the Caribbean. Due to its small size, it often goes relatively undisturbed except when either Estonia/
Latvia, the
United Kingdom, the
Netherlands, The
West Indies Federation or the
Confederate States of America need it for their formables.
Background and History[]
Trinidad and Tobago, officially the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, is the southernmost island country in the Caribbean and is known for its fossil-fuel wealth. Consisting of the main islands Trinidad and Tobago, and numerous much smaller islands, it is situated 130 kilometers (81 miles) south of Grenada and 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) off the coast of northeastern
Venezuela. It shares maritime boundaries with
Barbados to the northeast, Grenada to the northwest and
Venezuela to the south and west.
The island of Trinidad was inhabited for centuries by native Amerindian peoples before becoming a colony in the Spanish Empire, following the arrival of Christopher Columbus in 1498. Spanish governor Don José María Chacón surrendered the island to a British fleet under the command of Sir Ralph Abercromby in 1797. During the same period, the island of Tobago changed hands among Spanish, British, French, Dutch and Courlander colonizers more times than any other island in the Caribbean. Trinidad and Tobago were ceded to Britain in 1802 under the Treaty of Amiens as separate states and unified in 1889. Trinidad and Tobago obtained independence in 1962, becoming a republic in 1976.
Trinidad and Tobago is the country with the third highest GDP per capita based on purchasing power parity (PPP) in the Americas, only behind the United States and
Canada. It is recognized by the World Bank as a high-income economy. Unlike most Caribbean nations and territories, which rely heavily on tourism, the Trinidadian economy is primarily industrial with an emphasis on petroleum and petrochemicals; much of the nation's wealth is derived from its large reserves of oil and natural gas.

Brazil being colonial the Caribbean or whole America continents.
- If the

power they will going to form the

- Although rare for these countries to be played or survive their own threats,
Estonia or
Latvia may come down to fetch Trinidad and Tobago for their formable,
Courland-Livonia.
- Any West Indies countries wanting to form the
West Indies Federation.
- Any South American country wanting to invade you as an easy expansion to their territory.
- Other continent countries invade this nation as an easy colony or America base.
Strategy[]
First build 2 electronics factories and buy the necessary resources (4 Copper and 4
Gold) to keep supplying the factories. Next, sell the produced
Electronics to AI countries in large numbers, preferably, the three superpowers. Use the money from selling your goods to build around 2 destroyers and a submarine. Using this navy, justify on your fellow Caribbean countries and use the destroyers to chip down the home guards. This is important due to much of the Caribbean nations being one-city islands, and thus, you can't AI Lure their home guard. This is made worse by the fact that your units are weaker on troops transport ships. Due to this, unless you have at least 100k troops, it is highly recommended to wait for the home guard's numbers to drop down to at least 14k, and then attack them from there. After taking all the tiny island nations, the Hispaniola countries,
Cuba, and
Jamaica is all that's left. You should train your units for the Jungle and AI Lure all of these countries' home guards to take these nations. Always keep your submarines around your island if there is a strong player in your vicinity. The Caribbean is relatively unplayed and is usually not the first area one may expand to, so you would have some time to form the
West Indies Federation. By now, you will be strong enough to expand into Central America if not taken, or to colonize the region of Guinea and other weak nations surrounding the area. Then, once you expand into these regions, you can possibly take
Mexico, regions of South America
, and maybe even the
United States.
Trivia[]
- There is a minor inaccuracy with the formable,
Courland-Livonia needing Trinidad to form, as they only founded a few (short-lived and unsuccessful) colonies on Tobago.
- Trinidad has been colonized/captured by both the Spanish and British, and Tobago by the Dutch, Courlanders, British and French. Despite this, the only colonial empires in-game that need it are the
British Empire,
Dutch Empire and
Courland-Livonia.
